The Aps new product, the 2024 IWC Portuguese 7-day Reserve, is now available for pre-order. The large dial diameter, along with the matching Arabic numerals and leaf-shaped hands, has become an indispensable DNA of the Portuguese series. More importantly, the Portuguese 7-day Reserve has undergone all-round detail upgrades. Among them, the one that surprises me the most is the Portuguese 7-day Reserve.

1️⃣ Case: The new Portuguese 7-day Reserve maintains the 42.4mm diameter but successfully reduces the thickness from 14.1mm to 13mm. 13mm is usually regarded as an important critical point for judging the thickness and comfort of a watch. Therefore, this 1mm reduction is extremely significant for the Portuguese 7-day Reserve, which is mainly designed for formal wear. It will no longer be teased that a dress watch is thicker than a Submariner. 

2️⃣Mirror: To achieve a thinner experience, IWC uses a dome-shaped sapphire mirror. This not only provides more space for the hands to move but also significantly enhances the aesthetic appeal. Moreover, Aps does not skimp on costs and uses the same dome-shaped sapphire mirror on the back, allowing the backside to display its beauty in an unobstructed manner. 

3️⃣ Dial: Compared with the old model, the new dial has undergone significant changes. The new model has directly removed the track-style scale for the small seconds at 9 o'clock. At the same time, the "1" area of the power reserve display at 3 o'clock is no longer in red. These adjustments and design optimizations make the watch look simpler, more refined, and highlight the overall integrity of the dial.
