I introduced eight models released by VS Factory, each with a heavier weight compared to the standard versions from Clean or VS. These watches must have gained significant popularity, otherwise VS Factory wouldn’t have re-released some so quickly. Just last week, VS announced the V2 weighted edition of the 11xxxx series Daytona, and these are now available.

Honestly, Clean Daytonas are more popular, and Clean dominates the market in this category—buyers generally prefer Clean’s Daytonas. BT tried hard to compete but has nearly faded away against Clean, while APS and Gold also produced weighted Daytonas but had to lower prices after VS entered the market. Now, I believe VS is Clean’s biggest and only real competitor in the Daytona segment.

To compete with Clean, VS took two key steps: First, they reduced their Daytona prices. Second, they launched weighted Daytonas before Clean. I’m unsure if Clean will follow suit, but the second strategy seems more effective.

This grey-dial Daytona 116519 is highly sought-after and a top seller. Clean’s version is priced much higher, while VS released a V2 weighted edition without increasing the cost—in fact, it’s significantly cheaper. The V2 weighs 132.9 grams, and VS claims the case won’t suffer from peeling issues. Comparing the dials (see images above), Clean’s sunburst finish is more refined, while VS’s is bolder and slightly rougher. Some reviewers argue that the genuine watch’s sunburst isn’t as ultra-detailed as Clean’s, though I haven’t verified this myself. However, VS has improved the hand axes, making this aspect superior to Clean’s Daytona.

Rolex Daytona Dial Printings

The dial lettering is much improved—it’s not just printed but appears slightly raised, giving it a more premium look.

Rolex Crown Buckle

Clean executes the Rolex crown on the clasp better.

Case Back Engravings

The new V2 weighted Daytonas from VS now feature a unique sticker on the case back with the factory name and an elephant logo. As for the movement, there’s no need to question its accuracy or reliability—it’s a solid clone of the 4131, which is why Clean also adopted it in their models.
